We take pride in our quality of care.
At Optim Oncology, our medical oncologists use the latest technology in chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted (biological) therapies to treat cancer patients. Chemotherapy cancer treatments are most often given through an IV into a vein but can also be injected with a shot or given in a pill. The type of chemotherapy recommended for you will depend on the type of cancer and its stage (extent of the cancer).
Your cancer treatment may include one or more of the following:
- Hormonal Therapy
- Biological Therapy
- Immunotherapy Treatment
- Monoclonal Antibodies
- Angiogenesis Therapy
- Radiation Therapy
Our team of cancer specialists work closely together to manage your personalized cancer treatment plan, evaluate your progress, and adjust treatment therapies to produce the best possible outcome.
The first step is your initial consult with a medical oncologist. During that first visit, the doctor will discuss your medical history and latest test results. Additional testing such as a PET scan or a CT scan may be ordered before cancer treatment begins. Once our oncologist has everything s/he needs to determine a cancer treatment plan, they will discuss recommendations and options with you. Cancer treatment often includes several types of treatment in addition to chemotherapy, such as surgical and radiation treatments, and can discuss the projected timing of each type of treatment.
Optim Oncology also offers chemotherapy classes. These classes will provide important information on topics such as what to expect during chemotherapy, as well as recommended diet and exercise for patient undergoing chemotherapy. Talk to your physician if you are interested in taking one of our chemo classes, they will set you up. Classes are held on Thursdays at 3pm, as needed.
